wetsuit reincarnation
UPcycle your old wetsuits!
after a successful initial wetsuit recycling initiativE in 2024, Surfrider Atlantic Canada is stoked to support The Ark’s
made-in-nova Scotia solution
to bring new life to your old wetsuits!
Wetsuits will be upcycled by The Ark into products like surf change mats, sunglass cases, zippered bags, yoga mat holders, and more!
The Ark, with support from DivertNS, is focused on removing wetsuits from Nova Scotian landfills, where they can take
over 100 years to break down.
The program accepts clean, dry wetsuits, booties, and gloves.
Each wetsuit will be assessed and either repaired or repurposed into new products with the remaining scraps shredded for stuffing things like pillows and boxing bags.
The Atlantic Canada Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation Canada is proud to be supporting this initiative of The Ark, which provides paid employment to Ark employees of diverse abilities in partnership with Lawrencetown Surf Co. and Rip Curl Canada
(with artwork by Geoff Gibson: @sisc_daily).
